🎤 What do you do?

Building and leading squads and development teams in order to achieve the strategic objectives of Edenred. Also, part of my role is to develop the team’s skills, ensure they have a growth plan while achieving the organization’s target, and to provide a work environment that aligns with Edenred values and culture.

🎤 What’s one of your biggest challenges at work?

My job requires effective time management, prioritization, and the ability to delegate tasks effectively. It requires me to balance between what is urgent and what is important- this is the challenge I am always facing.

🎤 What part of your work makes you smile?

Witnessing the growth and success of a team member. 🙂

🎤 How is your team contributing to financial inclusion for the unbanked sector in the UAE?

My teams are driving and developing products that allow other companies to manage the payroll of their employees. We are always looking for more ideas and features on how to make their life easier using digital payments.

🎤 Which is your favorite spot at work?

‘Respect’ room: it always reminds me of my first day at Edenred, attending the Business Review and getting to know our team members and how they work.

🎤 What’s your mother tongue? Which languages do you speak?

My mother tongue is Arabic, and I speak English fluently. I have learnt some Italian basics, but I am definitely looking forward to start learning Spanish, now that I have the opportunity to practice it with people around me.

🎤 What specific actions or changes do you believe are most critical for fostering greater gender diversity and inclusion in the tech sector?

We, as leaders, should make sure that all employees feel valued, respected, supported, and we always follow inclusive hiring practices with diverse interview panels. We can also establish and host mentorship and sponsorship programs to support diversity and inclusion.
