🎤 Can you introduce yourself and share a little about your background?
➡️Hello, my name is Nametha. I work in the compliance department.
I’m from Kerala and my mother tongue is Malayalam. I’m fluent in English and Hindi, and I also understand Tamil.
So originally, I started from the HR department, where I had a strong foundation of understanding people. Now I am in Compliance where I have developed a deeper understanding of risk management and corporate governance.
🎤 What part of your work makes you smile?
➡️ What makes me smile is the positive attitude created by my colleagues and the workplace itself. Having completed seven years at Edenred, it truly feels like a second home to me. Outside my home, I spend most of my time here and that connection means a lot.
🎤 What is a challenge you’re currently facing?
➡️ I am responsible for onboarding of new clients on a daily basis and conducting KYB remediation to ensure compliance with the regulatory standards. I wish more people understood how compliance is critical within the fintech industry and what are the regulations we need to maintain the standards required by the UAE. Our work plays a critical role in protecting the company and also ensuring trust in the financial ecosystem.
🎤 What inspired you to pursue a career in this field?
➡️ What inspired me is a combination of personal interest, curiosity and the desire to make a meaningful impact.
🎤 What do you enjoy most about your job and why?
➡️ What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to make a real difference while continuously learning and growing. Every day brings new challenges that pushes me to think critically and adapt, which makes the work engaging and meaningful. I also like to collaborate with other departments.
🎤 What motivates you to support and empower the unbanked sector in the UAE?
➡️What motivates me to support and empower the unbanked sector in the UAE is the belief that financial inclusion is a key driver of social and economic equality. Supporting the unbanked means helping people gain control over their financial lives and ultimately improving their quality of life.
🎤 How would you describe the culture at Edenred?
➡️ The culture at Edenred is dynamic, inclusive and purpose-driven. We celebrate all the festivals and we work as a team here.
🎤 What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work that help you recharge?
➡️ I’m passionate about pets. Spending quality time with them is a real stress reliever for me and it brings me a lot of joy.
