🎤 What do you do? What does the day look like for you?

My job primarily involves a lot of coordination with our Exchange House partners and internal departments. As the key point of contact, my day-to-day includes drafting agreements, supporting partners with cardholder inquiries, managing partner accounts, addressing partner requests, and exploring new compliance-related product initiatives. It’s a role that demands strong communication and negotiation skills for sure! 😅

🎤 Have you always been in this kind of a role? What’s your background?

I’ve been doing this for 5 years now, so that’s a pretty great milestone. Before this role, I did sales for 15 years for recruitment, insurance, and education. I actually have an academic background in science, chemistry. I was on my way to study pathology, until I chanced upon sales 😁

🎤 What do you like best about Edenred?

I love the people that I work with. Even though we are a corporate, the vibes are friendly and the people are very easy to work with. It’s a very transparent and flat organization, where there aren’t any restrictions or blocks in communication.

🎤 What’s one of your biggest challenges at work?

My biggest challenge is usually sharing a new initiative with our partners. Dealing with a singular company is relatively easy, but in case of our partners i.e. exchange houses, there are usually multiple stakeholders and branches. So that means multiple rounds of approvals, which could easily take up to 8-9 months to get a green signal for any one initiative.

🎤 How is your team contributing to financial inclusion for the unbanked sector in the UAE?

Edenred UAE primarily works for the unbanked sector—to financially empower the blue-collar workers who don’t get access to financial services.

We work with exchange houses purely because of the segmentation, we are able to cater to smaller-sized companies, grocery shops, etc through these partnerships. This includes onboarding them, safeguarding the interests of the unbanked sector, and raising fraud awareness to ensure that their personal info is not exposed (to any third party). For example, a revolutionary feature such as Access to Paperless ATM Pin took away that risk factor.

🎤 What’s your mother tongue? Which languages do you speak?

My mother tongue is Marathi. I also speak Hindi and English fluently.
